What's it all about?

Wakeboarding and Waterskiing is fast becoming a favourite sport for many in the UK throughout both the summer and the winter months. It is relatively cheap to learn and easy to pick up. There are two ways of getting into the sport, the first is to find a boat, some rope and a board and get yourself to the nearest sea or large expanse of water. The second is to go to your nearest CableSki centre, this is genuinely much cheaper and easier then a boat, especially if you are new to the sport.

A CableSki is essentially just a wire that goes around the outside of a lake and pulls you around on either a wakeboard or water skis. Some of the more daring of you may choose to use the obsticles that are positioned in the water such a kickers and boxes where as some people just enjoy being pulled around the lake and using the edges of your board or skis to pop and turn.

You can buy a starter session for 2 hours from less then £20 for children and £40 for adults, this includes all the gear you need and tuition. Two hours will be plenty of time to get up and get going and enjoying this great up and coming sport.

For those of you that aren't confident swimmers don't worry, you get kitted out with an impact jacket which doubles up as a buoyancy aid as well. If and when you do come off the board/skis you only have to swim a few feet to get to the edge anyway and if you do get into difficulty there are plenty of trained staff to help you out.

So, what are you waiting for? Get your self down to your nearest CableSki centre today and give it a go!
