Wakeboarding Gear
Wakeboarding Gear
So you want to get started in the exciting sport of wakeboarding? I don't blame you, it is highly adictive, cheap and a great way to spend a day! So what kit do you need to start? Well I would recommend that you go to a local cable ski or wakeboard centre and give it a try first before you invest in your own gear, they will all rent your the gear you need for less then £10 you can then make a decision as to what kit you would like to buy!
Once you have tried it a few times and decided you would like to continue with the sport and buy your own gear, take a look at the list below.
- A good wetsuit - the English weather is not always reliable so make sure you can still enjoy your sport in all weathers
- An impact vest/jacket - this will protect you if you take a tumble
- Wakeboard - the most expensive bit of kit, however I would suggest looking around for a deal with a board and bindings, this will always work out cheaper
- Helmet - this will protect your head if you take fall, it's always worth buying one with ear protectors
- A boat - this ones optional but I can guarantee you will have lots of mates wanting to come out with you...the more that come out, the more fuel money you can get off them
